On September 12, HerGreenPlanet gathered at Kalorama Park for a community cleanup and educational workshop. We spent the afternoon picking up litter, connecting with environmentally minded women, and learning more about how gardening and composting can support sustainability and reduce waste right here in our community.

On Saturday, April 25, the HerGreenPlanet community came together for our Spring Cleaning event, an afternoon centered on sustainability, connection, and collective action. Participants kicked things off with a neighborhood cleanup, working together to clear litter and care for the surrounding streets, before transitioning into a lively clothing swap that encouraged reuse and more mindful consumption. By exchanging gently used pieces, attendees helped extend the life of clothing and reduce waste, all while building community and sharing resources. The event reflected HerGreenPlanet’s mission to make sustainable living accessible, social, and impactful through simple, collective efforts.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on February 28 for our community cleanup and Women’s History Month kickoff—your energy and participation made it a true success. We spent the afternoon connecting over food and beverages, cleaning up the neighborhood together, and then coming indoors to scrapbook, reflect, and honor the women who inspire us and the power of community. It was a meaningful reminder of how coming together with shared values can create both tangible impact and lasting connections, and we’re so grateful to have such an engaged and thoughtful HerGreenPlanet community 💚

What a fun and festive day with HerGreenPlanet! Our community came together for the Spooky Spruce-Up Clean-Up to make the neighborhood shine and celebrate fall creativity. Volunteers picked up litter, enjoyed snacks and refreshments, and got crafty decorating pumpkins after the cleanup.

Our “Flower Power” Clean-Up on July 12th was a vibrant and meaningful day of community action. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help clear trash from the neighborhood, leaving our shared spaces cleaner and more cared for.

After the clean-up, participants took part in our Community Flower Exchange, creating colorful bouquets as a celebration of renewal, unity, and environmental care.

To celebrate Earth Day the HerGreenPlanet way, we spent a meaningful Saturday cleaning up the neighborhood and hosting a community Clothing Swap!

Volunteers filled three large bags with clothing donations, and many pieces found new homes—keeping textiles out of landfills and giving them new life. Paired with a neighborhood clean-up, it was a fun and impactful way to care for both our community and the planet.

Rain or shine, our first HerGreenPlanet clean-up was a success!

Volunteers came together to remove litter, connect with one another, and help keep our streets clean. Together, we collected dozens of bags of trash and raised $250 for the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) International.
